Summer Term 2018

We are exploring the story of water on our planet including the water cycle. There is an abundance of useful information on the web for the children to explore. A starting point can be found on the BBC website.

English

In English this term we will be evaluating and writing instructions, thinking about the features and structure of non-chronological reports.  We will be using a Literacy Shed video to help us with our Adventure story narratives based on the Girl and the Robot.

Maths

The Spring term sees the children learning all about decimals, writing fractions as decimals, dividing whole numbers by 10 and 100.we will be studying money, comparing amounts of money, rounding amounts of money as well as lots of problem solving involving money. Our next topic is mass, volume and length. this topic involves measuring and converting as well as working out perimeters. Then we're onto measuring area. Finally we will be studying geometry.  All children should continue to practise their times tables to ensure they can recall them quickly and confidently.  Don't forget the matching division facts too!  Click here for some fun times tables games you can play online.  

PE 

PE lessons will usually take place on a Monday and Tuesday but PE kits must be in school everyday.   Every child must have a pair of trainers for outdoor PE use.
