Where does the money go?
How We Help Our School ...
How It's Spent....
Each year we provide the Bibles given to the F2 children and we pay for the Key Stage 2 House Outing. We also fund the whole school outing to the theatre in December to see a pantomime, Summer Sports Day refreshments, annual class donations (£100/class) and the First News subscription for KS2.
In the past, our larger contributions have helped towards the Prayer Garden and the provision of new playground furniture in the early years playgrounds.
In 2013 The Friends contributed £8,000 towards the new Jungle Mulch, making all 'muddy' areas accessible all year round and creating a new outside play area for KS1. Other spending in 2013 included £2,000 on the shrubbery project, new sports kit for the Cross Country and Football teams, 10 new Flip Cams, classroom reading books, play trikes, bikes and KS1 Play Equipment and 3 iPod Touch for KS2.
2014 saw The Friends donate nearly £11,500 to the school, with around £8,500 being used to buy new iPads. The money also went towards new St Thomas More sports jackets, mini iPads, various school event refreshments and of course the Bibles for new F2 pupils.
In 2020 we funded benches and table tennis tables in the playground, and in 2019 further playground improvements including a climbing frame for the F2 children, playground markings and equipment were funded, as well as school plaques and maps for the whole school.
